Glue & Glow of Sensuality
Ashlesha translates into “Embrace, Entwined”, and has a symbol of coiled serpent.
The physical constitution of this nakshatra is Kapha – water + earth and is contained in the Rashi of Karka/Cancer which is ruled by the watery planet, Moon.
When we think of female beauty, a soft body, illuminating skin & hair come to mind.
Even though we inherited our genes from our ancestors, how well we look as time goes by, depends on how we use our life force energy & how well we are able to gather, protect, increase & spend our energy.
Moon energy increases & heals the female reproductive system as well as gives a stable mind, which saves a women’s energy from being drained into random things or people. Moon is called “Manas” in Sanskrit which goes deeper than just loose translation “emotions”, its all of our desires and imprints & impulse of every action.
Ashlesha & Moon both help to “root” the focus & senses on the physical body & heals the anxiety & overthinking.
Moon also gives satiation & removes frustrations related to outside situations, as it focuses on using one’s own inner juices for personal enjoyment.
Ashlesha is similar to one of the subtypes of Kapha, which is “Shleshaka Kapha” which has the function of providing glue and lubrication to each part of the body including joints. It is the substance that “binds” one cell to another. Similar to the function of collagen.
For a woman to be healthy & beautiful, she doesn’t need to starve herself, cut down fat, workout harder or deprive herself of any sensual pleasures.
Instead, indulging in juice foods such as fresh fruits, milk & lubricated fat such as ghee & coconut oil, as well as dancing are the best ways.
Dancing has 2 functions; it awakens the sensual side & shapes the outer sheath of the body in the image of our inner feeling, plus it helps the body move without feeling burnt out.
